Interactive Spanish sentence builder

Use this interactive PowerPoint to show children how to build sentences in Spanish using the third person singular form of tener: tiene.

Pupils can use the resource to construct sentences such as mi hermana tiene tres gallettas.

By clicking on a word or phrase in a blue block and a green block to complete the sentence, pupils will get great satisfaction when a gold tick appears to show them their choices are correct.

Remind pupils that personal pronouns are usually only included for emphasis or when the subject of the verb is ambiguous. Point out also that in Spanish we say ‘Luis has 6 years.”

This free PowerPoint is written by Barbara Scanes and Jenny Bell and published by Brilliant Publications. It was originally published as part of Learn Spanish with Luis y Sofía, 1a Parte; a story-based resource for teaching Spanish in KS2.
